Power Big MeetSORRY – NO POWER BIG IN MEET IN SWEDEN 2026!
We have had two very difficult years in terms of weather, 2024 and 2025. The cost picture (you can call it the “start fee” before the Big Meet opens its doors) of approximately 1.2 million SEK is adjusted for “normal” weather, but that has not been the case in the last two years. 2023 was also a challenge in that regard!
Rental of the field, security company, kilometer-long barriers, 70 toilets, garbage management: several large containers and about 100 smaller garbage cans, associations (about 90 people) that handle logistics both in admission and out on the field as well as manual cleaning of the Hovby field during and after the meeting, extensive loudspeaker systems, a large number of prize trophies etc. for winning vehicles, 5000 Power Big Meet signs, marketing and more are required to carry out the event at the airfield in a professional manner. For us as organizers, months of preparation are also required before the meeting!
We have therefore chosen to hold the following event in 2026 – our 47th year of operation. Power Meet was founded in 1978 – and had the pandemic not occurred in 2020 and 2021, it would be an almost incredible 49 years! Hässleholm on Saturday 30 May (in the fantastic green area Hässleholmsgården almost in the middle of Hässleholm – where we have run the Power Start of Summer Meet for over 30 years) and in Emmaboda on Saturday 29 August (Power End of Summer Meet celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026!). Both are incredibly well-attended and popular!
Power Meet ends the 2026 season in Vara on Saturday 31 October: The indoor market Power Autumn Market has been well-attended and appreciated for 25 years!
We thank Lidköping as the host city for Power Meet 2017 to 2019 and 2022 to 2025!
A sad decision – not least for all the visitors from all over the world who have become our friends!
